Straight From Chelsea:
Hey, hey to all my fellow music & fashion enthusiasts!
It’s Chelsea from Seventeen Style Council & I just got back from the most amazing weekend of all time at the Bamboozle Music Festival in New Jersey! Thanks to Seventeen & American Rag I got to hit up all the amazing shows & talk to “Bamboozlers” about the latest music fest fashion! Oh yeah, and did I mention I did a one-on-one interview with Jordan Witzigreuter from The Ready Set for Ragged Mag? He was SO great…………..…looking, and oh yeah, he was nice to talk to too. My best friend, China & I also had the chance to meet Ryan Cabrera right before he went on stage to perform, and we were both completely STARSTRUCK! I’m SO thankful that I didn’t blackout from all the excitement of the day.
All right, so here we go – it’s time to dish on the latest trends that you should be rocking this summer at you favorite music fests & concerts! While at Bamboozle, I saw tons of girls (including myself, - just sayin’) wearing feather earrings & feather hair extensions – everything from bright neon feathers, to peacock feathers, & to more the natural looking feathers. But beware – do not over do it, going feather overboard could result in looking like big bird, or even worse a homeless pirate! Other trends I saw at Bamboozle were lace leggings, combat boots, leather jackets, cropped tees, crochet tops & dresses, sheers, and fanny packs – yes, yes, yes I know they were that weird 90’s craze, but when I talked to fashionista’s Laura from Jac Vanek Fashions and Jessi from New York Couture they both agreed that the fanny pack is making a huge comeback! Check out Laura & Jessi in their fanny packs as well as some fun pictures I took of “Bamboozlers” in their concert threads below!
Finally onto the music – my favorite performances from the weekend were without a doubt, Forever the Sickest Kids, LMFAO, Dev, Travie McCoy, Wiz Khalifa, New Found Glory, Ryan Cabrera, and of course The Ready Set. LMFAO were so much freaking fun live – they had the whole crowd getting jiggy and jumping all around – my best friend and I felt like we were at one big house party! Wiz Khalifa sounded INCREDIBLE – for his last song he, of course, did Black & Yellow and the entire crowd went WILD, everyone knew all the words – even China and I belted it out with no shame. It wasn’t hard telling which stage The Ready Set was performing at – you just had to follow the flock of screaming girls sprinting in Jordan’s direction, but come on, The Ready Set nailed their performance and was a blast to watch – who could blame them?
Overall I had such an amazing experience at Bamboozle & I hope this gave you ideas of what looks to rock at your favorite festivals & shows for summer 2011! Also, make sure you keep stalking the Ragged Mag blog - they’ll be posting my interview with The Ready Set soon!
That’s all folks!, have an awesome summer!
