Seventeen Style Council: Chelsea Reports From The Warped Tour Grounds
July 11, 2011
We sent Seventeen Magazine’s Style Council correspondent, Chelsea, to the 2011 Vans Warped Tour to spot some key fashion trends and report back on the hottest performances of the day!
This year, cropped tops, straw fedoras, floral patterns and pastels seemed to dominate the Warped grounds. Check out her on-the-ground video and read her full Warped recap below!
Make sure you check back tomorrow for her one-on-one interview with Ashley Costello from New Years Day!
What’s up! It’s Chelsea from Style Council and I just got back from the most amazing weekend of my summer – the first stop on the Vans Warped Tour in Dallas, Texas! And I’m ready to clue you in on all things fashion & music related! So get ready!
Some of my favorite performances at Warped were 3OH!3, The Ready Set, Simple Plan, HELLOGOODBYE, Reliant K, Less Than Jake, New Years Day, and that’s only just naming a few. But my all time favorite band of the day was definitely 3OH!3 – they totally take the cake on showing the crowd a good time – and no, I know what you’re thinking, and you’re wrong! I’m not just saying 3OH!3 rocked because Sean & Nathaniel are gorgeous and I want to date them and I’m hoping they read this. No way, not true at all. Okay well maybe a little, but really, they were crazy live – I’ve never seen so many people jumping with their hands in the air!
The highlight of my weekend was definitely getting the chance to do a one-on-one interview with Ashley Costello from New Years Day right outside of her tour bus. She was one of the coolest chick’s I’ve ever met and I love her bold, rocker chic style. Be sure you keep stalking the Ragged Mag blogs because they’ll be posting the interview soon where I got the scoop on what’s next for the band, where she gets fashion inspiration (you’d be surprised – it’s not what you think), and whether she thinks Ugg boots, cropped tops, and hippie bands are totally lame or DOUBLE AWESOME! So be sure to stay tuned!
The fashion scene in Dallas was wild! My best friend from high school and I had such a blast talking to people about their favorite looks& trends of the summer! The biggest craze we noticed was NEON – it was everywhere - even Ashley said her eyes were burning on stage from the brightly dressed crowd! Other fun trends were rompers, Native American inspired threads, straw fedoras, fringe& crochet tops, headscarves, florals & pastels. So if you’re headed to Warped Tour or another awesome show this summer, be sure to rock one of these great looks.
Thanks so much for reading! Don’t forget to look out for my interview with Ashley Costello on RaggedMag, and also stay tuned for more Warped Tour music and fashion exclusives from my other Style Council ladies!
