Day 2 of Lollapalooza has now come and gone, and it certainly upped ante on all fronts. Temperatures were hotter, crowds were bigger, and fans were more excited than ever. With acts like Social Distortion, AFI, Gogol Bordello and, of course, headliners Green Day, the south end of Grant Park was packed with varied takes on the punk look, while the north end featured packed sets for indie acts like The xx, Grizzly Bear, Spoon and the other headliners of the evening, Phoenix. While Green Day took an over-the-top approach to their over 2-hour performance, with plenty of stage banter and fireworks, Phoenix played a tight crowd-pleaseing sets of danceable hits like “Lisztomania.” Take a look at a few photos from yesterday, and come find us out at the last day of the festival today!
