On The Mark

Maybe it’s because we’re between season’s but lately the stuff at La Garconne is feeling as cliche to me as the stuff at F21. If I see another girl in an oversized sheer T and body con skirt, well I’m just going to jump of a building. And no, I don’t think that’s an overreaction. But luckily Aryn K.‘s Spring/Summer Collection is a breath of fresh air. With harem pants, paperbag Waist shorts, white lace and asymmetry, the line tips it’s hat towards trendiness, but doesn’t pander to it the way so many clothes do now. In fact, with architechtural white cotton, solid blouses and colorblocking at play in a lot of pieces, they actually hold up as minimal fashion, these days anyhow. Also worth noting is that I’ve seen a few of these pieces in person and the material holds up. I mention this because I always try to avoid the dreadful sensation of seeing a piece you loved in the mags and then finding out it’s flammable rayon. And yet somehow the price points on these pieces are low, like 2 digits low.

More looks from the collection after the jump.
